Earlier this year, Dr. Sangiv Patel and Dr. Rajiv Patel took their commitment to helping others to extraordinary new heights—19,347 feet, to be exact!
In February, the Patels traveled to Ecuador to take on the incredible challenge of climbing Cotopaxi Volcano, one of the highest active volcanoes in the world. Their journey was about much more than reaching a summit. Through their “Climb for a Cause” initiative, they turned this personal challenge into an opportunity to give back.
Rooted in the spirit of seva, or selfless service, their climb was part of an ambitious effort to raise $100,000 for causes close to their hearts, supporting efforts ranging from research and education to anti-trafficking, shelter, local communities, and feeding hungry children.
The Children’s Hunger Project was honored to be among the organizations supported through their incredible journey. Following their adventure, the Patels visited TCHP to present their donation and see firsthand how their generosity will help provide weekend food to children right here in Brevard County.
Their story is a wonderful reminder that making a difference can take us to unexpected places—even to the top of a volcano!
