Senator Debbie Mayfield posted a tribute in her newsletter about the Spearmans. Delores served on our board for many years, and currently holds an Emeritus position and she and Guy continue to contribute financially…to TCHP and many others.

The constituents of the week are Delores and Guy Spearman. The Spearmans are long-time members of the Brevard community who are continuously involved in philanthropic and community affairs.

Mrs. Spearman was one of four founders of Project Hunger through the United Way of Brevard, which feeds 1,600 children each week during the summer months. Mrs. Spearman has also devoted her time to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard, serving as a Director.

The Spearmans are known for their love of Florida State University, funding various scholarships and donations. The couple has made it possible for Brevard County students pursuing a degree at the FSU College of Social Work to apply for several scholarships, including the Guy M. & Delores Spearman Scholarship, Spearman Graduate Veterans Scholarship, and the Spearman Social Work Veteran Field Scholarship. In addition, the Spearmans have made scholarships available through their donations to the FSU Athletics Department, the Veteran’s Film Festival, and the Marching Chiefs Instrument Fund.

Brevard and the State of Florida are privileged to have the Spearmans as members of the community. Thank you, Guy and Delores, for your continued passion for helping others.
