Keith Gee, Executive Director of The Children’s Hunger Project talked about the packing event at Astronaut High School, with 300 teachers preparing 1,000 weekend backpack meals for local students.

“Today is a great example of how Brevard Public Schools is #CommunityConnected. Here at Astronaut High School in Titusville we have over 300 teachers all from Titusville to pack 1000 food packets to take to the community to distribute to Titusville students. Thanks to Brevard Public Schools. Thanks to all the teachers in Titusville, thanks to Astronaut High School for hosting this. We look forward to feeding more hungry kids.”

The Children’s Hunger Project is part of the effort to keep students in school and ready to learn. It’s one less worry for children at risk of weekend hunger, and helps teachers who are focused on providing the best educational environment for the students.

Please help us combat weekend hunger by making a donation. Just $12.50 a month (that’s less than 42 cents per day) feeds one more child, shrinking the wait list for weekend meals.
