The Children’s Hunger Project was honored to receive a generous $15,000 donation from BAPS Charities, presented to our Executive Director, Cheryl Cominsky, by Dr. Sangiv Patel, Sundip Patel, Maxur Patel, and Dipak Patidar.

The funds were raised during the BAPS Charities “Spirit of Service: Walk-Run” held on June 1st in Melbourne, FL—an inspiring event that brought the community together in support of The Children’s Hunger Project and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Charity. More than 250 participants joined the walk-run to raise awareness for ending childhood hunger and supporting local first responders, all while promoting health, service, and unity.

Community leaders including Charles Chambliss (Mayor of Palm Shores), Jigisa Dookhoo (Judge of the 18th Judicial Circuit Courts), and John Dittmore (Former Mayor, City of West Melbourne) participated in the event, showing their solidarity for the cause.

The BAPS Charities Walk-Run is part of a nationwide movement—one of over 100 walks held across North America—that has supported thousands of local organizations for more than 20 years. Through their continued commitment to service, BAPS Charities inspire communities to come together in the true spirit of giving.

Thanks to their generosity, more Brevard County children will have access to the weekend meals they need to grow, learn, and thrive.
