“Getting involved in community service is so important, no matter what you do. It’s all about making a positive impact and giving back to those around us.” Kamal Philibert of Philibert’s Kitchen, fed over 70 donors that came out to support The Children’s Hunger Project .
“If you ever worked with me before. You can imagine how the back of house went”, says Kamal. “The team in the back of house was very good. Tony and Josh was excellent! To the queen herself Sandra Bryan that held it down! Jessica, my assistant for seating all guest and also running food. The lodge provided me with 6 volunteers who was focus on the bar, cleaning and bussing table. The host Anjanette Wicks omg! I would not know what to do without her. She is literally the greatest and best host for any events on this level.”
Chef Philibert gave thanks to his sponsors and several attendees, to include Avanese Harvey Taylor Andrea Fant-Esq Andrew Pickett Law, PLLC , Dr Ho and more. He also thanked the mayor of Cocoa Michael Blake, and Vice Mayor of Melbourne, Yvonne Minus for showing up for the community. Pastor Jarvis Wash who was the keynote speaker, came with a message to the community. Mr. Philibert called him “Truly a community pastor”.
An impromptu performance by one of TCHP’s youngest and earliest supporters, Ella Grace Helton, who attended with her mother, was a delightful suprise! Ella began supporting TCHP when she was just 5, donating her bracelet sales. She has worn many hats since then, from dance to art to acting and producing films, while supporting feeding hungry kids in her home community of Brevard.
Many thanks to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Merritt Island at 1050 North Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island, for hosting this event in their beautifully transformed lodge!
