While I welcome the “stunned” response of Britt Kennerly in Sunday’s editorial in FLORIDA TODAY, I am not surprised at the anger in the community as it relates to feeding other peoples’ children. Ours is the charity that feeds these children and we are angry.
Above all else, however, we must not take out our anger on the innocents, those children who receive the food. In the war on children, children are not the enemy. Whether we choose to believe Pogo (“We have met the enemy and he is us”) or our own common sense, children are not part of the “enemy” equation and should not be punished. Read full article
