We are filled with gratitude as we reflect on the success of the Love A Kid Luncheon, and we want to take a moment to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who participated and supported this vital event. This gathering was not just a luncheon; it was a heartfelt celebration of our community’s unyielding commitment to the welfare of our children.
At this event, the residents of Brevard County came together to witness the remarkable efforts of The Children’s Hunger Project, an organization devoted to transforming the lives of our most vulnerable young citizens. TCHP’s mission is simple yet profound: to ensure that every elementary school student has access to nutritious food over the weekends and during school breaks. By providing essential food packages, we are working hand in hand with Brevard Public Schools to make certain that no child faces hunger during those critical times.
Two local elementary school students, Alexa M. and Kalli B. shared a passionate message which touched our hearts as they described how these modest packets make a huge difference in their families lives week after week. When students return to school at the start of the week, they have a better and healthier basis on which to learn.
Many thanks to David Dischler, TCHP vice-chair for being our fantastic Love A Kid Luncheon emcee.
Thank you to Dessert Sponsor, Karen Montás, TCHP past board chair, and to the Melbourne High School Culinary Arts Program for their part in preparing the desserts.
Many thanks to TCHP board member, Shana Marshall for our beautiful floral centerpieces.
It is because of all the generous support of luncheon donors that the entire cost of the event was covered. Every dollar contributed at the luncheon goes directly to feed hungry children locally.
Endeavor Elementary students played string instruments as attendees entered the hall.
Under the direction of Ms. Bell, the Li’l Pirate Dance Troupe represented Palm Bay Elementary with an upbeat dance.
Other speakers included: Katye Campbell, board member and school board member, and Catherine Murphy, Principal-Endeavour.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone at St. John the Evangelist Church for hosting the event.
We are grateful for the support of area businesses, civic groups, and community leaders who volunteer, sponsor, raise funds, and promote awareness to help us feed more children.
Thanks to TCHP board and community advisory board members, TCHP staff, and everyone who worked diligently to ensure the success of this event!
Our dedicated staff and volunteer team is passionately engaged in this mission, currently serving 4,500 students across 60 local elementary schools. Since our inception in 2010, we have been unwavering in our commitment to providing food assistance to children in need, and with your support, we continue to make strides in this essential work.
Thank you for standing with us in this noble cause. Together, we are making a significant difference in the lives of local children, ensuring they have the nourishment they need to thrive. Your support is invaluable, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you as we work towards a future where no child in Brevard goes hungry.
