What an incredible start to our Youth Council!
Our first Youth Council meeting in September brought together 37 students from across the community for an afternoon focused on connection, service, and leadership.
Students kicked off the meeting with an engaging icebreaker challenge, giving them the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, meet new people, and get to know other students who are passionate about making a difference in their community.
Students also learned about additional volunteer opportunities and scholarship resources available to help them grow both personally and professionally.
The day concluded with hands-on service as students worked together to pack weekend food packages for local elementary students. This gave them the opportunity to see firsthand how their time and effort can directly impact children and families in our community.
And this is only the beginning!
We are incredibly excited about the future of the Youth Council. Throughout the year, students will have opportunities to hear from subject matter experts, participate in hands-on leadership training, develop valuable skills, explore community involvement opportunities, and continue making a meaningful impact through service.
We are so proud of the 37 students who joined us for our first meeting and can’t wait to see what this group accomplishes together!
The future of leadership starts with students who are willing to serve, learn, and lead.

Brevard Youth in Action: TCHP Clubs & Youth Council
The TCHP Youth Council is growing! 💙 Students from schools across Brevard County are coming together to serve their community, develop leadership skills, earn volunteer hours, and help fight childhood hunger.
Students currently participating in our Community-Wide Youth Council meetings represent:
- Brevard Virtual School
- Brevard Homeschool
- Titusville High School
- Viera High School
- Rockledge High School
- Satellite High School
- Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School
- Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy
Our Youth Council includes students who participate through established TCHP clubs at their schools, as well as students who get involved individually. Together, they attend our Community-Wide Youth Council meetings at TCHP, volunteer with our team, participate in service projects, and find new ways to support children in need throughout Brevard County.
As a Youth Council member, you will have the opportunity to:
- Volunteer and make a meaningful impact in your community
- Develop leadership, teamwork, and professional soft skills
- Earn valuable volunteer service hours
- Connect and collaborate with students from across Brevard County
- Gain insight into nonprofit organizations and community service
- Help support local children and families experiencing food insecurity
- Build friendships while making a difference
- Strengthen your college, scholarship, and career applications through community involvement

You don’t need an established TCHP club at your school to get involved! Students are welcome to attend our Community-Wide Youth Council meetings, participate in volunteer opportunities, earn service hours, develop leadership experience, and connect with other students who want to make a difference.

2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR
Rockledge High School
The ‘Raiders in Need’ Project at Rockledge High School continued to make a meaningful impact by supporting The Children’s Hunger Project throughout the school year. Under the leadership of Cooper, alongside approximately 20 dedicated student members and Teacher Sponsor Mrs. VanBrunschot, the club organized food drives, fundraising initiatives, and service projects that benefited both TCHP and the Rockledge High School community. Their commitment to helping local children facing food insecurity exemplifies the spirit of student leadership and service.
Satellite High School
At Satellite High School, Julia continued to serve as a strong student leader, taking the initiative to organize several successful fundraising projects in support of The Children’s Hunger Project. With the continued guidance of Teacher Sponsor Ms. Marks, the club remained engaged in raising awareness and supporting our mission. The group is excited about the upcoming school year and looks forward to welcoming new members who are passionate about making a difference in their community.
Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School
The TCHP Club at Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School continued to thrive under the leadership of Club President Lily and Vice President Tiya, with the support of Teacher Sponsor Mrs. Baker and a dedicated membership of approximately 30 students. Throughout the year, the club participated in food drives, fundraising efforts, volunteer opportunities, and community events that directly supported The Children’s Hunger Project’s mission to fight childhood hunger.
We are also proud to recognize Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School as the recipient of the High School Participation Award at the Health First Fight Child Hunger 5K, earning the distinction of having the most registered student runners among all participating high schools.
Additionally, Lily and Tiya have stepped into countywide leadership roles by serving on the TCHP Youth Council, helping to guide youth engagement and expand awareness of childhood hunger throughout Brevard County.
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy
The TCHP Club at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy continued its strong tradition of service under the leadership of Naya and Ellora, with the support of Teacher Sponsor Mrs. Retter. Throughout the year, club members participated in numerous food drives, fundraising activities, and volunteer opportunities that helped provide meals to local children facing food insecurity. Their dedication to community service has made a lasting impact and continues to strengthen the partnership between Holy Trinity and The Children’s Hunger Project.
Looking Ahead:
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we are excited to continue growing our school-based clubs and expanding opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, serve their community, and advocate for children experiencing food insecurity. Through food drives, fundraising events, volunteer opportunities, and participation in the newly established TCHP Youth Council, students across Brevard County are proving that young people can make a powerful difference in the lives of others. Together, we are building the next generation of compassionate leaders committed to helping children in need.
