Georgianna Church in Merritt Island joins forces with The Children’s Hunger Project and sponsors food for children in need. Georgianna recently held a pie auction. Who would think it would be an incredible fundraiser? Pastor Corky Calhoun was in rare form as he auctioned cakes and pies for exorbitant prices. Keith Gee, TCHP Executive Director shared, “I had to sit up and take notice when the first pie sold for $2,000! A Beef Tenderloin Shepards Pie sold for $3,000!”

Georgianna raised funds to build a new church in Guatemala, and  to provide food for Cambridge and Endeavor Elementary schools through TCHP. At the end of the auction, it was evident that the desire of this congregation and those in attendance to show compassion for others (including the quality of the pies) fueled the event’s success!

Georgianna has been one of TCHP’s biggest and most consistent supporters. Pastor Calhoun has been an ardent speaker at past Child Hunger Summits and the Love-A-Kid Luncheon on behalf of our organization. Georgianna has also sponsored the Health First Fight Child Hunger 5K.

“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account says, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove…but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.” ~ Pastor Corky Calhoun

TCHP and families of Cambridge and Endeavor Elementary schools are grateful for their incredible generosity. Learn more about Georgianna Church.
