HEALTH FIRST FIGHT CHILD HUNGER 5K RUN/WALK January 11 2020 was a wonderful success for hungry children in Brevard!
I wanted to give you my thoughts on the 5K. Once again, this was a very smooth event. Logistics of an event this size can be quite daunting, but our team are now masters of making this look easy.
We had a lot of volunteers! Cheryl does such a great job coordinating our volunteers. The time she invests into communicating with all of these folks definitely makes an event like this a success. Some of our regular volunteers, James, Todd and Barbara rocked the house! I don’t want to imagine where our organization would be without folks like this!
I heard so many positive comments about the pancake breakfast. The Lions do such a great job and people really seemed to appreciate it.

I want to thank the board members who attended. Tina, Rosy, David, Ben and Michael, thank you! With Ben (Mayor of Cocoa Beach) we had two mayors in attendance!
Digital signs promoting our event from Centerstate Bank and Marine Bank were amazing. There was great Facebook promotion leading up to our event (thank you Sherry!). The oranges donated by Sysco were very good and juicy! We once again grew this event. We had just over 600 register – up from 490 last year!
Thank you to our staff. Cheryl, Amanda and Lori go above and beyond on a REGULAR basis. They bring their families to our events and work tirelessly without questioning why or how. They just get it done!
