Community Participation at 5th Annual Golf Tournament Feeds Hungry Kids

We have enjoyed tremendous success for five years at the TCHP Golf Tournament.  There will not be a TCHP Golf Tournament in 2020, however we look forward to seeing you at the January 11th Health First Fight Child Hunger 5K. Visit our website 5K page, or FaceBook for 5K registration and sponsorship details!

The 5th Annual 18 Holes FORE 18 Kids Golf Tournament on April 27, 2019 raised awareness and funds for hungry children right here in Brevard. Due to incredible community support we are able to feed more children who are at risk of weekend hunger in the county.

“Because of the way the event is structured, all of the sponsorship money goes to buy food to feed kids,” said Keith Gee, executive director of The Children’s Hunger Project. “We do a raffle and auction at the event, and all of that money raised basically pays for the cost of the event.”

Dumpster Drive: A unique aspect of the event courtesy of Waste Management, our Title Sponsor. The Dumpster Drive Challenge, with prizes for golfers to chipshot into into the dumpster was a hit with even the more accomplished golfers!

Sheriff Ivey, honorary chair, spent time on the course meeting, talking with, and having photos taken with all of the golfers. “Sheriff Ivey is a great advocate of ours and he’s such an integral part of our community,” said Keith.

Prizes included first, second and third place for the top, middle and bottom third of golfers. Mr. Gee explained that this unique set-up allows people who may not be excellent players a chance to win first, second or third place in their division.

Held this year at Viera East Golf Club, the event wrapped up with a delicious lunch buffet. Southeast Aerospace commented on Facebook, “When we strive to take care of each other, we all win! We’re looking forward to participating to help those in our community.” Thanks to Marine Bank & Trust who proudly help feed hungry kids today in Brevard County. Many o the included photos here are provided by them. “Wonderful event and lots of money raised for an amazing cause!

Many thanks to our outstanding volunteers, without whom this event wouldn’t be possible.

Additional foursomes were: Suntree Ladies Golf Association, Paula Dawson family & friends, Cynthia & Fred Thompson & friends
